Five Things – This Week in Student Affairs – May 8th

Take a moment to see what’s going on this week in the Division of Student Affairs.

1. Town Hall Meeting, May 12, 1-3pm – Join us for a town hall meeting where we will discuss the academic realignment. This event will also be live streamed via Zoom. Zoom link to come. Live captioning will also be available. Plaster Student Union Theater. Open to public, current students, faculty, staff.

2. Multicultural Services Graduation Reception, May 11, 6pm, PSU Ballroom – Please join us for the spring 2023 Multicultural Services Graduation Reception. Students honored at the graduation reception will receive a kente cloth stole. These stoles represent their commitment to diversity, education and community at Missouri State University and beyond. Open to alumni, current students, faculty, staff.

3. Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Heritage Month – May is Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) Heritage Month.  Missouri State University will host events May 1-9 to offer glimpses into the contributions, influence and enriching traditions of APIDA people. All events are free and open to the public unless otherwise stated. No registration is required. Learn more here.

4. Open Forums for the Director of Student Conduct – The Dean of Students office invites the Division of Student Affairs’ Community members to meet the Director of Student Conduct candidates at an Open Forum. Each candidate will give a brief presentation and will then answer questions from the audience.

We hope that you will consider attending as many sessions as your schedule allows.  Thank you for your support.

6. May Day 2023 – The end of the semester means one things – May Day hosted by the Student Activities Council, Traditions Council and the Student Government Association. Encourage your students to take part in May Day on Wednesday, May 10th 11am-5pm, in the PSU, on the North Mall and on the Blair-Shannon Lawn. Lots of games, food, prizes, crafts and so much more. A fun way to end the semester!
