Take a moment to see what’s going on this week in the Division of Student Affairs.
Dr. Siscoe is happy to announce that Public Affairs and The Center for Community Engagement has joined our division. Please welcome Mary Ann Wood and Stacey Trewatha-Bach (Public Affairs) and Alex Johnson (The Center for Community Engagement) as the newest members of our team.
1. DEI Spotlight: The Chronicle of Higher Education has compiled a site where you can track legislation related to Anti-DEI work. It is an interactive site with links to proposed legislation and is updated as bills are introduced, passed, or tabled/failed. It is a helpful tool to follow along with Missouri legislation, as well as providing a larger picture for what is happening with DEI efforts in the country as a whole.
2. Sign up for Bear Crew and House Calls – It’s never to early to volunteer to take part in Bear Crew and House Calls. Become a member of the Bear Crew and welcome incoming students and their families to campus by helping them move into their residence hall rooms. We are looking for volunteers from our current student body, faculty, and staff to help with Missouri State move-in on August 16-19, 2023. House Calls 2023 will take place Wednesday, August 30, 2023. The House Calls program is designed to reach out to residence hall students and give them an opportunity to interact with faculty, staff, and administrators on a more personal level. By visiting individual rooms in the residence halls, volunteers can welcome students, help determine if they need any assistance, and answer any questions they might have.
