1. President and Students Inclusivity Discussion – Encourage the students you work with to attend the President and Students Inclusivity Discussion on Wednesday, October 25th, 3:30-5pm in the Union Club, PSU 400. The topic will cover the implementation of the new Inclusivity Principles and the student experience
2. Halloween in the Halls – The Residence Hall Association (RHA) will be sponsoring a safe indoor Halloween experience for the children and grandchildren (ages 2 to 12) of all Missouri State faculty, staff, and students on Wednesday, November 1st. Tours will start at 5:15 pm and the last tour will leave the Grand Lounge at 7:30 pm. The Pumpkin Patch, in the Blair-Shannon Grand Lounge will include check-in, games, and refreshments. All floors will be non-scary. Residents of our buildings will be trained to be tour guides known as Pumpkin Pals and will escort the children through the residence halls. During the event, we will also be collected individually wrapped candy donations that will later be taken to Cox Children’s Hospital! Donations are welcomed but not required to participate in the event! 3. Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon – Join Chartwells for its “In October We Wear Pink” Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon on Tuesday, October 31st, 11am-1pm in the Union Club. The cost of the lunch is $12.00. 50% of all funds raised will be donated back to the Staff Senate fundraising efforts for Cancer Research of the Ozarks. Reservations aren’t required but you can reserve at table by contacting Teri Trickey at teritrickey@missouristate.edu. See the menu here.
4. Public Affairs Talks! MSU Fuse Workshop for MSU campus members – Learn how faculty, staff and students are incorporating Fuse across Missouri State University to increase inclusivity, cultural competence and cultural awareness. The goal of Fuse is to reduce and prevent violence in the community. This program encourages people to spark connections through conversations and offers resources for navigating polarizing topics. Using a combination of activities, multimedia and in-person training, Fuse promotes understanding, awareness, and engagement.

5. Earn the 2024 wellness incentive discount – In order to educate employees about health benefits resources and to reduce the impact of influenza on our workforce, full-time employees enrolled on the Health Plan will qualify for the full 2024 wellness incentive by completing two actions:
- Watch/complete an educational “Did you know” questionnaire through My Learning Connection (Oct. 9-Dec. 1, 2023).
- Receive a flu vaccination (between Aug. 1-Dec. 1, 2023).
- Complete one activity for $15 monthly incentive or both for $30 monthly incentive.
6. Volunteers needed for SOAR Carousel – New Student and Family Programs is recruiting volunteers to help us with Carousel, the first part of our SOAR Leader interview process on Saturday, October 28th. You, along with other evaluators, will be judging how potential SOAR Leaders work in a team, think quickly on their feet when asked questions by family members and new students, public speaking and creating a commercial for Missouri State.
