Five Things – This Week in Student Affairs – September 16th

September 16, 2024 by Priscilla Childress

Take a minute to see what’s happening in the Division of Student Affairs this week.

1. Division of Student Affairs All-Staff Meeting – The Division of Student Affairs All-Staff Meeting should already be on your calendar for Friday, September 20th from 9-11 am in the PSU Theater. This program will include meeting with our new President, Dr. Richard “Biff’ Willliams, hosting the DOSA Awards Ceremony, and committee meetings. Questions? Reach out to peggyjones@missouristate.edu.

2. 2024 Public Affairs Conference – The 21st Public Affairs Conference is Sept. 24-26, 2024. Free and open to the public, this year’s conference offers a mix of in-person speakers and live virtual panels.  The theme, Between the One and the Many: Considering Community and Individualism, explores the ways that Americans engage the one and the many, as we consider the role of community and individualism in American life. View the flyer here for more information.

3. Strategic Planning Process Engagement – The University will be developing a new strategic plan this year.  President Williams’ vision for the process of developing the new plan is that it will be highly interactive and will engage students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders.  There will be opportunities for engagement throughout the process, which kicks off later this month and will wrap up in May.

The first opportunity to get involved is coming up.  The September 30-October 2 kickoff will include small group sessions and an interactive workshop.  There will also be some online sessions on October 4.  You can indicate your interest in participating in one or both opportunities using this form:  LINK.
