At Missouri State University, our Office of Student Conduct plays a vital role in fostering a safe and supportive campus environment. Let’s dive into what we do and how you can get involved!
Who We Are
Our dedicated team includes:
- Gabby Catlin – Director of Student Conduct
- Tony Vienhage – Assistant Director of Student Conduct
- Haley Hawkins – Graduate Assistant
Together, we work to uphold the principles of fairness and integrity within our student community.
What We Do
The Office of Student Conduct focuses on three key areas:
- Education: We empower students by informing them about their rights and responsibilities.
- Support: We provide holistic support to a diverse range of individuals, promoting positive decision-making.
- Fairness: Our policies and processes allow students to share their perspectives and learn from their experiences.
Our Mission
One important aspect we want everyone to know is that the student conduct process ensures your right to due process. This principle was established by the landmark Dixon v. Alabama Board of Education Supreme Court case in 1961. We’re committed to creating an inclusive environment where every student feels safe to share their story. If you receive an email from our office, we strongly encourage your participation!
Collaboration Opportunities
We love working with the campus community! Here are some ways to collaborate with us:
- Request a Presentation: Visit our presentation request page.
- Collaborate on Events: Shoot us an email at studentconduct@missouristate.edu or call us at 417-836-5527.
Champions for Student Success
We strive to be Champions for Student Success by encouraging learning, safeguarding our community, and fostering resilience. Our participatory process helps students achieve their goals in a supportive environment.
Recent Achievements
We take pride in our role in cultivating student success. Our greatest accomplishment? Witnessing students transition from our office to proudly walking across the graduation stage!
Goals for the Year Ahead
In the upcoming year, we’re prioritizing restorative practices that focus on repairing harm, encouraging accountability, and empowering students to align their actions with their values.
Get Involved!
We’re excited to create more opportunities for students to gain experience and get involved. For now, feel free to reach out! We’re happy to provide educational presentations and answer any questions about the conduct process or the Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities.
