1. Public Affairs Talks! – Elections 101 – With the General Election this fall, voting is in the forefront of many people’s minds. Do you know where to access nonpartisan information about candidates and ballot issues? Do you know where to find your ballot issues prior to election day? How do we know that our elections are safe and secure? Why do we have an electoral college and how does it work?

Many people are looking for the answer to these questions, so you are not alone! This one-hour session will answer these questions and more during our live Zoom panel event, Public Affairs Talks! Elections 101. Experts will help explore and explain these questions and take audience questions as time allows.

2. Halloween in the Halls – Wednesday, October 23, 2024 – The Residence Hall Association (RHA) will be sponsoring a safe indoor Halloween experience for the children and grandchildren (ages 2 to 12) of all Missouri State faculty, staff, and students on Wednesday, October 23rd. The event will be held in the Blair-Shannon Grand Lounge. Tours will start at 5:15 pm and the last tour will leave the Grand Lounge at 7:30 pm. The Pumpkin Patch, located in the Grand Lounge, will include check-in, games, and refreshments. All floors will be non-scary. Residents of our buildings will be trained to be tour guides known as Pumpkin Pals and will escort the children through the residence halls.

3. Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon – Join Missouri State Catering and Staff Senate for the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon on Tuesday, October 29th, 11am-1pm in the PSU Ballroom. A delicious meal will be served and 50% of the proceeds raised will be donated back to Staff Senate to go toward their fundraising efforts for Cancer Research of the Ozarks. View the flyer.
4. Department Spotlight – Multicultural Programs – At the heart of our campus lies the Multicultural Programs department, a dynamic team committed to fostering cultural competence and providing essential resources for students. Read the spotlight.
5. Contribute to the strategic planning process – Take part in the Strategic Planning Interactive Workshop No. 2 to provide input on the university’s values, vision and mission statement, as well as goals to focus on for the next five years. Sign up to participate in the next interactive workshop scheduled for Oct. 28. Seats are limited, so participants will be selected in a manner that ensures broad representation.

NPGS CSAM Social 2024 – The NASPA CSAM social is an informal event space for participants to connect with other New Professionals and Graduate Students members and explore connections that bring together the field of student affairs. – October 24th – 4pm ET – Register here
