1. Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon – Join Missouri State Catering and Staff Senate for the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon on Tuesday, October 29th, 11am-1pm in the PSU Ballroom. A delicious meal will be served and 50% of the proceeds raised will be donated back to Staff Senate to go toward their fundraising efforts for Cancer Research of the Ozarks. View the flyer.
2. Lunch and Learn – FLSA Discussion – Join us for a Lunch and Learn discussion on the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) with Director of Human Resources Scot Scobee on November 6th at 12 noon in PSU 317. 3. Department Spotlight – Counseling Center – The MSU Counseling Center is dedicated to supporting the mental health and well-being of all Missouri State University students. Read the spotlight.
4. Veterans Student and Staff Senate Tailgate – Stop by the Staff Senate/Veteran Student Center tent on November 2nd between 11am – 2pm and enjoy free food before the football game. Contact Raeleen Ziegler at rziegler@missouristate.edu for more information.
5. Open Forums for the Director of the Office of Student Engagement – Join the Office of Student Engagement for the Open Forums for the Director of the Office of Student Engagement. Topic: Strategies to engage Generation Z Students: How to Increase engagement in student organizations.

6. Admissions Student Showcase – The Fall Admissions Showcase is taking place on Saturday, November 2nd, 9am-2pm at various locations around campus. The Student Life Expo will be held in the Foster Rec Center. Potential students and their families will be touring campus and the Residence Halls, and learning about our academic programs.
7. GROW Coaching Initiative – DOSA is kicking off the GROW Coaching initiative. All supervisors in the Division have participated in training from EAB (Education Advisory Board) and are now ready to work their supervisees on this new initiative. The GROW Coaching Model can help staff and managers discuss goals, celebrate achievements, identify action items, and work together to create a plan for future accomplishments. The flexibility of this coaching model allows one to see where they are now, where they want to go, and how they are going to get there as they move forward personally and professionally.
8. Join us in celebrating Careers in Students Affairs Month 2024 this October! Every October, NASPA celebrates the profession of student affairs. Through this month-long celebration, the NASPA community comes together to share their knowledge, network, and uplift the student affairs profession.
