The TRIO Upward Bound program at Missouri State University is designed to equip students with the skills and motivation they need to succeed in high school and go on to complete a four-year college degree.
who we 
Are
Our team is made up of:
- 3 full-time staff members
- 1 graduate assistant
- 10 part-time staff (6 instructors, 4 youth counselors)
- 1 work-study student (total supervision of 14 employees)
- Additionally, we have expanded our team with 4 mentors, 7 ambassadors, 1 TRIO intern, 2 work-study positions (currently unfilled), and 1 SAHE intern, bringing our supervision scope to 29.
What We Do
Our top three functions focus on:
- Academic Enrichment
We offer intensive academic instruction, tutoring, and preparatory courses to build a strong foundation for college success. - Personal and Social Development
Through mentoring, counseling, and leadership development, we help students grow personally and socially, readying them for life beyond high school. - College Readiness
From college applications to campus visits, we assist students in preparing for their future educational journeys, guiding them in career exploration and financial planning.

TRIO Upward Bound is committed to supporting students in their educational endeavors, providing the resources and support they need to succeed in college and beyond. We are not a recruitment arm for Missouri State University; instead, we champion student success by supporting them wherever their educational path may lead.
Collaboration Opportunities
We invite partnerships with campus departments and community organizations. Collaborators can facilitate workshops on college preparedness topics such as financial aid, mental health, study skills, and more.

Goals for the Upcoming Year
Our focus for the coming year includes meeting Department of Education objectives, increasing evaluation completion by 12%, and securing $20,000 in foundation or donor funds to expand our support for students.
