The Missouri State University Bookstore is a dynamic hub on campus. It is dedicated to supporting students, staff, and faculty by providing essential course materials, technology solutions, and BearWear while fostering collaboration, accessibility, and school pride through its wide range of services and initiatives.

Who We Are

The Missouri State University Bookstore is dedicated to supporting the entire campus community. Our team includes:

• 14 full-time staff members
• 15 part-time/seasonal staff members
• 90 student employees who work across five daily store locations and support various seasonal events, including athletics and special academic occasions.

What We Do

Our primary function is to provide the course materials for student’s needs in the classroom. This would include not just the textbooks but the supplies to support them to be successful. Technology needs is also something we support with both Windows and Mac products available at academic prices to help support students for use in and outside the classroom. We offer tech support on Mac products and operate as the source for Mac technology for the campus. BearWear and souvenirs are the other area where we support the campus. We are available for the student or staff looking to show school pride, as well as available for customer ordering of merchandise to support the needs across the campus department and student organizations.

The  Bookstore is here to support all areas of the campus community. Whether it’s providing essential resources or assisting with unique requests, our mission is to positively impact every student and help them grow from their first day on campus to graduation. Our team is always ready and willing to connect with you, understand your needs, and see how we can support you or your event.

Collaboration Opportunities

We are available to develop partnerships with all departments across the campus. The door is open at the bookstore, and we welcome and encourage the campus community to reach out and touch base with us. We are happy to work together and find ways for us to support.

Recent Achievements

The StreamlinED program now has more than 250 titles included for the Fall 2024 semester. Not only are we proud of that accomplishment, but also our relationship with the DRC to ensure the titles in the program are reviewed and approved as accessible for all our students. We were also able to put together an opportunity for student clubs and organizations to raise funds for their organizations by assisting the bookstore with our football operations this season. Student clubs/organizations can sign up with us to help support our football locations with help and in return receive a portion of the gross sales raise for the day. Great opportunity for students to raise funds, and beneficial support for the bookstore – win/win!

Looking Ahead

Our main goal is to continue to develop our transition to digital course materials. The accessibility and affordability of these materials is proving to be a great benefit across the board. The transition to the new Conference USA is a focus for us in the bookstore to ensure we can continue to support the teams and the university with BearWear promoting the change/step up to this new level of competition.

We offer opportunities for students to become members of our team and work for the bookstore. We hire a number of students annually to work for us in many different capacities and different locations. It is a great way to gain experience working in a retail environment, and offer the flexibility to keep your academics first!

We usually promote our big events on the main page of our website – Shop.MissouriStateBookstore.com and always place signage outside the store to remind you of our big events as you walk by. In addition, we do our best to get our big events on the digital signage around the campus.
