2. Bear Financials: MSU LEAD On Workshop – Bear Financials: Practical Budgeting for Leaders. Wednesday, February 26, 2025, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Pummill 206
The Bear Financials workshop equips participants with the essential knowledge and skills to manage budgets effectively and responsibly within the university and foundation settings. This training focuses on understanding the structure and purpose of financial accounts, navigating various budget types, and mastering the tools and processes for payment requests, reimbursements, and financial reporting. Participants will learn to ensure compliance with fiscal policies, make informed financial decisions, and foster accountability within their departments. Through practical examples and guidelines, this training prepares leaders to confidently oversee and optimize their financial resources.

3. Department Spotlight – Dean of Students Office – The primary role of the Dean of Students Office is to assist students in accomplishing personal and educational goals. This includes helping remove barriers that might make those goals difficult to reach. Read the spotlight.
4. Bear a Friend – Send a Sleuth (a group of bears) to a co-worker, friend, professor here at Missouri State. You can send a bunch of bears for a one-time suggested donation of $5.00. The collected funds will go to the Student Emergency Fund. How does it work? Complete the form below and under the cover of darkness (or whenever their office is empty), your friends space will come alive with bears! The bears will be collected from the office two days after the bearing has taken place. Make a friend/co-worker feel special and have some fun! 5. Nominate a Student for the Student Employee of the Year Award – Do you know a spectacular student employee? Celebrate them! Nominations for Student Employee of the Year will be accepted until Feb. 28. The Student Employee of the Year Reception will be held April 16 in the PSU Ballroom. Nominate a student.
6. MSU Blood Drive – Gamma Sigma Sigma, SAC and SGA have partnered with the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks to host a Blood Drive on January 28th-30th in the PSU Ballroom West, 11am-5pm. Free hoodies while supplies last. View the flyer to schedule an appointment.
7. Counseling Center Open Forum for Mental Health Clinician – The Counseling Center invites the Division of Student Affairs to meet the candidates for our Mental Health Clinician 10-Month Appointment position at an Open Forum. The candidate will conduct a 30-minute presentation on the topic of college students and mental health. The presentation will be followed by 15 minutes for Q&A. The candidate’s scheduled time is below. An evaluation form for each candidate will be made available at the presentations.
