We have three dining centers on campus. Blair-Shannon Dining Center, located in Blair-Shannon House, and Heitz Dining Center, located in Heitz House, are all-you-can eat dining centers.
This Fall 2024, we will be launching the Food Hall at Garst Dining Center, which is connected to Hammons and Hutchens House. With one meals-per-week swipe, you get a ticket for one meal from the concept of your choice, and can even take it to-go! There will also be grazing stations with fruit, cereal, and desserts available to eat as much as you’d like.

Who We Are
Our team is made up of dedicated full-time and part-time staff, as well as both undergraduate and graduate student workers. Together, we work to provide exceptional dining services to the Missouri State University community.
What We Do
- The top function of our department is to provide meals for our campus patrons with our various residential and retail locations on campus.
- We provide upscale catering to our campus and community patrons through our Carved and Crafted Catering.
- We provide fellowship to the community in our dining centers and event spaces.
We Want You to Know
We love to hear your feedback! We want to know from your perspective what is going well, and what could be improved. There are many different ways to provide feedback including speaking with a manager, sending us a message through Dine on Campus, sending us an email, or a DM through social media.

At Chartwells, we are committed to supporting student success by offering nutritious meals that help students maintain a healthy lifestyle and perform well academically. Our dining spaces also serve as inclusive environments where students can gather, unwind, and interact beyond their classrooms and living spaces.
Collaborating Opportunities
We encourage collaboration with different departments and student organizations! You can partner with us by dining in our spaces, attending our events, or co-hosting events with us. If your department is interested in partnering, reach out to us to set up a meeting to discuss the logistics.
Recent Achievements
We have Ingredient Experts highlighted in each of our Dining Centers. These team members have taken extensive trainings to be able to talk with guests about any questions they have about our recipes and menu ingredients.
Goals for the Upcoming Year
Our goal for the upcoming year is to build upon the solid foundations and innovations of 2024. We strive to continue providing an outstanding dining experience that goes beyond just food—focusing on atmosphere, service, and engagement as well.
Opportunities for Student Success
Students have numerous opportunities to get involved with Chartwells. Each month, we host events in our dining spaces that encourage student interaction. Additionally, our DIY menus and engaging activities throughout the year offer both educational and fun experiences to enjoy.
