Student Wellness is the health promotion unit within Magers Health and Wellness Center and the Division of Student Affairs. Our vision and mission support the mission of our institution and the Division of Student Affairs by keeping true to the following set of guiding principles, adopted standards, core values, and department goals that drive the essence of our work.
Who We Are
The Student Wellness department is dedicated to promoting a healthy and balanced lifestyle for all students. Led by Tenna Reel, Coordinator of MSU Student Wellness, and Lacey Blomberg, Graduate Assistant, the team works tirelessly to support students in their wellness journey.
What We Do
Our department focuses on three core functions:
- Health Promotion
- Reducing Preventable Health Risks
- Personal Growth Opportunities
We Want You to Know
Our department is dedicated to supporting students’ overall well-being—whether physical, emotional, financial, spiritual, social, intellectual, or environmental—so they can thrive both academically and personally. We believe a holistic approach to wellness is key to student success.
Collaboration Opportunities
We welcome collaboration with other departments and organizations to create events and programs that promote student wellness and success. If you’re interested in working with us, please email studentwellness@missouristate.edu.
Championing for Student Success
At Student Wellness, we believe that well-being is directly connected to success. We champion students by:
- Fostering Positive Relationships – Creating a safe and supportive space for students.
- Offering Personalized Guidance – Helping students navigate their wellness journey.
- Advocating for Student Needs – Providing resources and education on health and wellness.
Recent Achievements
We recently launched our Instagram to connect with students and share wellness resources. Recently, we’ve hosted stress management events like De-Stress Fest and Mindfulness & Meditation, and we’ve collaborated with organizations such as SAC and Nutrition & Dietetics to promote student well-being.
Our Goals for the Upcoming Year
We have exciting plans ahead. One of our main goals is to launch a Peer Mentor Education Program, providing students with opportunities to:
- Gain leadership experience
- Engage in wellness promotion on campus
- Support their peers in their health and well-being journey
Get Involved
Yes! We’re excited to be developing a Peer Mentor Education Program, which will provide students with opportunities to gain experience in promoting wellness on campus. In the meantime, students can get involved by attending our wellness events and engaging with our programs.
