Five Things – This Week in Student Affairs – March 31st

Take a moment to see what’s happening in the Division of Student Affairs!

1. Lunch and Learns for the Spring – Lunch and Learns are back!  All the Lunch and Learns will take place in PSU 317, 12noon-1pm.. Cookies and refreshments will be served. You can RSVP at: https://bit.ly/LnLSP25

The dates  are:

April 9th          FERPA and Open Records
April 24           SGA Student leadership Panel

2. Coordinator, New Student Orientation Open Forums –  The Office of Orientation and Transition Programs is inviting you to meet the candidates for the Coordinator, New Student Orientation position.  We will host a Q&A session for you to learn more about each candidate and provide feedback through an evaluation process.

3. Public Affairs Talks!  called “Thriving Together: The Art of Neighboring to Avoid Awkward Moments & Boost Well-Being” – Everyone is a neighbor to someone whether you live in a house, apartment or residence hall.  Join the Office of Public Affairs on Wednesday, April 9, 3:30 – 4:30 pm in the PSU Theater for an engaging presentation to explore the engaged neighbor principles and their impacts on health, wellness and community.  This will be perfect for anyone wanting to be more active in their neighborhood.  Laugh and learn from our speaker’s personal stories of how he went from apathy to engagement and how to avoid the “awkward” moments.  View the flyer. 

4. Paws to the Polls – Local Election Candidate Panel – Join Paws to the Poll and the Office of Public Affairs Support for the at local election candidate panel on Wednesday, April 2nd, 5:30-7pm in the Plaster Student Union Theatre. Local candidates will share their thoughts and answer questions prior to the local April election on August 8th. View the flyer.

5. 2025 Greek Week – It’s time for the annual event, Greek Week on campus. Taking place March 31st-April 5th, everyday is filled with fun events! Theme: A Greek Getaway: Crusin’ Towards New Adventures

Events and dates are:

Monday, March 31st – Kick-off – Elm Street – 4pm
Tuesday, April 1st – Competitive Events – Rec Fields – 4pm
Wednesday, April, 2nd – Goddess and God Pageant – Juanita K. Hammons Hall – 7pm
Thursday, April, 3rd – Educational Event – Plaster Student Union
Friday, April 4th – NPHC Yard Show – PSU North Mall – 7pm
Saturday, April 5th – Greek Jam – Hammons Student Center – 12pm

6. Department Spotlight Program-Student Wellness – Student Wellness is the health promotion unit within Magers Health and Wellness Center and the Division of Student Affairs. Our vision and mission support the mission of our institution and the Division of Student Affairs by keeping true to the following set of guiding principles, adopted standards, core values, and department goals that drive the essence of our work. 7. Strategic Planning Interactive Workshop No. 4 –  Sign up for Strategic Planning Interactive Workshop No. 4 to provide input on goal strategies of the 2025-2030 Strategic Plan.

Seats are limited, so participants will be selected in a manner that ensures broad representation.
