Outdoor Adventures provides recreational and educational opportunities for students, faculty, staff, and affiliates to take full advantage of our beautiful natural surroundings.

Who We Are                 

Outdoor Adventures is a vibrant program under Campus Recreation, proudly supported by the Student Affairs Department at Missouri State University. With a team of 15 dedicated staff and student employees, we provide fun, safe, and inclusive outdoor experiences that connect our campus community with nature.

Three Core Functionalities

• Climbing Wall – Challenge yourself on our indoor climbing wall located in the Foster Recreation Center (FRC).

• Rentals – Access outdoor gear like tents, sleeping bags, and hiking equipment for your own adventures.

• Outdoor Trips – Join semesterly trips exploring breathtaking landscapes with experienced guides.

How We Support Students

We enrich the student experience beyond the classroom by offering alternatives to traditional workouts and creating a welcoming community for students to get involved and stay active.

Recent Achievement

In partnership with the Bears Lead Program and Bear Breaks, Outdoor Adventures awarded five full scholarships for a Spring Break trip to Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado, making outdoor travel more accessible to students.

• Sign up for our semesterly outdoor trips

What’s Coming Up

We’re excited to announce the installation of brand-new bouldering flooring at our Climbing Wall — coming late Spring or early Summer. This upgrade will enhance the safety and experience for our climbers.
