Take a moment to see what’s happening this week in the Division of Student Affairs! We wish you a lovely holiday on July 3rd and a happy and safe 4th of July!

1. Sign up for Bear Crew and House Calls – It’s never too early to volunteer to take part in Bear Crew and House Calls. Become a member of the Bear Crew and welcome incoming students and their families to campus by helping them move into their residence hall rooms. We are looking for volunteers from our current student body, faculty, and staff to help with Missouri State move-in on August 13-15, 2026.

House Calls 2026 will take place Wednesday, August 26, 2026, from 5:15pm to approximately 8pm. The House Calls program is designed to reach out to residence hall students and give them an opportunity to interact with faculty, staff, and administrators on a more personal level. By visiting individual rooms in the residence halls, volunteers can welcome students, help determine if they need any assistance, and answer any questions they might have.

2. DOSA Awards Nomination Process is Open – We are excited to announce the 17th Annual Division of Student Affairs Awards program. The deadline for all submissions is July 24, 2026.  DOSA Awards will be presented at the Annual Student Affairs All Staff Meeting on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in the PSU Theater to recognize graduate students and staff from within the Division of Student Affairs for exemplary performance during the previous academic year.

3. Input on Forum Invitees – VP MarCom Finalists – Candidates for the VP MarCom position will be coming to campus soon. Please share this open forum information with student leaders that are around this summer. It is always good to have students participate in search events so any help you can provide in getting the word out to students would be greatly appreciated.

At this time, all the forums will be held in Glass 354 from 1:30-2:30 PM.  Dates are 29 June, 30 June.  Stay tuned for more details.

4. Week of Welcome 2026 – It’s hard to believe, but the 2026 Week of Welcome will kick off on Thursday, August 13th with the start of Move-In for our new students, and the first of a week’s worth of fun events that will engage our students across the campus. The Office of Student Engagement has been working hard with many areas across campus including Campus Rec, Residence Life, Housing and Dining Services, Family Programs, the Bookstore, the Plaster Student Union, Magers Health and Wellness,  Athletics, the Counseling Center, SAC, TC, FSL, Dean of Students Office, and more, to plan a fantastic slate of events for our students to enjoy! Events include Bear Bash, New Student Convocation, Room Decor Bingo, 417 Street Fest, Grab a Scoop with FSL Transfer Student Popcorn Social, the 2030 Class Photo, Campus Fest CMA, Student Organization Festival and so much more! 5. Request a Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) Presentation – Do you know what the Behavioral Intervention Team does to assist students? Do you know when you should refer a student to BIT? Ellen Currie, Coordinator–Student Care and Support, is available to visit with your team to discuss the work of BIT, and how you can work with BIT to support students. 6. Upcoming Pharmacy Benefit Update: Biosimilar Transition Effective July 1, 2026 – From the Human Resources Blog – Our pharmacy benefit manager, Med-Impact, is implementing a formulary update effective July 1, 2026, as part of a broader strategy to manage prescription drug costs while maintaining access to effective therapies. This update reflects the continued shift toward biosimilar medications, which offer the same clinical benefit as brand-name drugs at a lower cost.

What’s Changing?

Beginning July 1, 2026, Humira (adalimumab), adalimumab-adaz, & Simlandi  will be removed from the formulary and designated as non-formulary. This means they will not be covered under the prescription drug plan after this date.

The preferred alternative will be adalimumab-ryvk, an interchangeable biosimilar. Because it is interchangeable, pharmacies may be able to substitute it for Humira or Simlandi without requiring a new prescription, depending on state regulations and pharmacy practices.

What Should Members Do?

If you are currently taking Humira, adalimumab-adaz, or Simlandi:

• Be aware that coverage will end after June 30, 2026
• Watch for the mailed communication from Med-Impact
• Talk with your healthcare provider about whether switching to adalimumab-ryvk  is appropriate for you
