Five Things – This Week in Student Affairs – September 8th

September 8, 2026 by Priscilla Childress

We hope that you enjoyed a nice long weekend. It’s time to get ready for a busy September at Mo State! Take a minute to see what’s happening in the Division of Student Affairs.

1. Student Advisory Board Applications – Applications for the Student Advisory Board are out… and due back by September 8th at noon. The Division of Student Affairs Student Advisory Board exists to provide open dialogue and discussion between Missouri State University students and the Vice President for Student Affairs. This student board, open to both graduate and undergraduate students, has been charged with providing deliberate input to the Vice President regarding out-of-classroom experiences and student life.

We are looking for student applicants from various academic programs, co-curricular experiences, and varied backgrounds to serve on this important advisory board.

Please share this leadership opportunity with the students you work with in your departments.  Direct them to the Student Advisory Board website for more information, and to the application.

2. Division of Student Affairs Fall All-Staff Meeting – As a reminder, the Fall All-Staff meeting is September 10th starting at 8:30am in the PSU Theatre.  The All-Staff meeting is a great opportunity for the Division to come together, visit with friends from other departments, celebrate the staff honored with the annual DOSA Awards, take the annual Division photo, and hear updates about Student Affairs and the University from Dr. Siscoe and others. The group photo will be taken right at 8:30am so come early, enjoy some coffee and pastries, and get ready to celebrate the Division of Student Affairs.
