Happy May!
We are almost to the end of the spring semester and, for our Bear Grads, almost to the end of their journey towards a degree! We also know that as the weather gets warmer, and study day is approaching, students are spending more time outside and together. It is important that during these times, you remain aware of University policies and resources to keep you safe!
Firstly, we encourage you to review the Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities. The Code outlines our expectations for your behavior on and around campus, especially those actions that could impact the larger community. Part of these expectations includes an alcohol policy, which is violated when students are in possession of alcohol on campus including Residence Hall. Additionally, it is a violation of the Code to be intoxicated on campus or the Residence Halls. If you have any questions about the Code, please feel free to contact our office and we would be happy to discuss those things with you. The Office of Student Conduct is committed to the holistic wellness of our community.
We encourage you to explore some of these resources related to sleep, alcohol usage, and general wellness. These are great resources for study day, finals week, and future semesters as a whole!

Safe Drinking Tips for Young Adults
Alcohol-impaired driving accounted for 210 crashes in Springfield alone last year, according to Springfield Police Department. Making sure that you have safe and sober transportation is key to preventing these tragic incidents from occurring within our campus community. Sober drivers can be found through applications like Uber or Lyft, or even by designating a sober friend to begin the night. Overall, we want to see our students maintain a level of safety and wellness to continue to be successful at Missouri State University.
