Sigma Mu Sigma is the Missouri State University chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma, the National Criminal Justice Honor Society.  This organization was established on campus in 2001 and since that time, 275 students have been inducted.  National policies for the organization dictate the mandates with regards to student eligibility for joining the chapter.  All students must be majoring or minoring Criminology and Criminal Justice.  Undergraduate students must have completed three full time semesters, maintain a GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale in their cumulative and criminal justice courses and rank in the top 35% of their class, with a minimum of four criminal justice courses completed.  Graduate students must have completed four courses in criminal justice and maintain a 3.4 GPA on a 4.0 grade scale, while remaining in the top 25% of their class.  At Missouri State University, Sigma Mu Sigma sponsors multiple fund-raisers for non-profit organizations throughout the academic year, provide active shooter / intruder training sessions bi-annually, and host the Annual Missouri State University Criminology and Criminal Justice Conference.
