Student Organization Spotlight: American Fisheries Society

May 9, 2019 by Isaiah Villarreal

The American Fisheries Society – Missouri State University Subunit is a student organization dedicated to students who have an interest in aquatic biology and fisheries management. We strive to provide professional development and networking opportunities through regional and national conferences. We frequently partner with community organizations such as the James River Basin Partnership to provide opportunities to gain real-world experience through service work. We also put on social and recreational gatherings, including float trips and tours of fisheries and aquariums. If you’re interested in joining, please come to one of our monthly meetings; we are a diverse and welcoming group of students and are always excited to meet new people who share our interests and passion.
