Today we went to Nha Trang. We had to drive a few hours to get to the airport in Da Nang. But we got to see one of the longest tunnels in Vietnam! We arrived to our hotel, settled in, and we were on our way.
We visited the “Husband” rock. There is a very large imprint in the stone that looks like a hand. They believe that a giant fell into the rock and left the print. Next, we went to Ponagar Temple. Ponagar Temple was built by the Cham. The building technique is very interesting. Our Tour Guide said that no one has been able to figure out how they fit the bricks together so perfectly. Next, we visited the most exciting part for me! The Nirvana Buddha and the Crying Buddha. We took a long climb up all the stairs. The magnificence is just breathtaking. There were a few monks at the top, by the Crying Buddha that we talked to for a few minutes. They are very kind. The girls and I also offered a prayer and incense to the Buddha.
We took a cyclo ride through the city. It was very nice to have a slow paced tour. Mui Ne tomorrow!
