Day 12:
The last day at Inle Lake and the last day with the whole group was here. We all climbed onto the Jettis and took off onto the lake. The breeze felt cool against my face as we sped down the canals.
The jumping cat monastery was beautiful, although the jumping cats were not to be found. The architecture was beautifully crafted and maintained. Looking at the shrines, I could feel the history that was behind them. The monks walked in lines into the monetary and said their prayers and blessings. The dedication that they give to Buddha and life is inspiring.
We then headed up the mountain on the river. The canals were small and we had to go through very tiny openings that were just inches wider than the jetti. The ride was exhilarating and it felt like a rollercoaster. At the end we came to a small town where we looked at temples made of stone. Sadly, some of the rock had been destroyed by people looking for gems under the Buddha figures.
We hopped back on the Jetti, stopped for a quick lunch, and then were off to the hotel.
It was a day filled with adventure and relaxation.
