Because of the impending storms here in Springfield, I decided to look up the climate of Vietnam for the month of May.
In Saigon, May is the beginning of the rainy season. The temperature generally ranges from 70-95 degrees Fahrenheit during the month of May, with over 100 hours of sunlight for the month. I was excited to learn that the average temperature of the water surrounding Saigon is above 80 degrees Fahrenheit, which means the water will be refreshing and not too cold for me to swim. As the rainy season begins, the humidity also begins to climb, averaging around 70%. While this number seems high, the humidity stays pretty constant, ranging from 60% to 80%.
In Bali, the temperature for May ranges from 75 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit. It is not the rainy season, so precipitation is somewhat low, but humidity continually remains high at 85%.
Hopefully we don’t sweat too much with all of the humidity. And, if we do, get the chance to cool off in the warm ocean!

I love a sunny day as much as anyone but I too hope that it isn’t too hot when we’re there. The humidity will probably be the most testing factor, but I’m sure we’ll probably be enjoying ourselves too much to even notice!

Last year when we were in south-east Asian, my biggest impression would be the hot and humid weather. It felt so good sleeping in a room with air condition at the end of day. There wasn’t much rain during our stay. I guess it was the dry season there then.
