05/22 Singapore Botanical Garden
Today began with a long walk to breakfast. We trekked across the different districts of Singapore, landing at a little French bakery just south of orchard road, the main stop for high end shopping. Then, we explored the strip a little, shopping for necessities that might have been forgotten. Some of the group wanted to ride the Farris wheel, so we headed there next. Even though I chose not to ride, there was always something to watch and see as I waited for the ride to commence. Following the ride, we traveled to little India, where I got my first real and authentic taste of Indian food. The spices, the curry, among others, redefined my taste buds as I dipped naan bread into the different favors. Because the group was so big, we had to take two taxis to the gardens by the bay. This is where the story gets interesting. While one taxi successfully landed at gardens by the bay, the other taxi took us to the botanical gardens. Without wifi, it was nearly impossible to reconnect our group. Stressed and Hot, my group diligently looked for the other half of our group. It was not until we bummed off of wifi that our group finally found the error and corrected it. But, by then, it was almost time to leave for Bali. Overall a hectic but good day.
