Vietnam has been seeing an increase in growth in its economic sector in recent years. This is mostly due to e-commerce and technology expansions. China is well-known for its use of Wechat/Alipay and integration for everyday transactions. Vietnam has made moves to follow in suit of China and create mobile wallets and other technology application for everyday use. I’ve definitely seen a rapid growth in other countries and well, such as Thailand in order to keep up with the rest of the world. I think a large part of Vietnam’s push to grow, is to compete with China’s global markets and to bring business/wealth to their own country.

i’m from China. In china, we use Wechat everyday, everywhere. We do not need to bring any card or cash to go outside. Just connect your debit or credit card with your phone, and you can do anything in your Wechat, such as book a hotel or tickets, order a taxi, transfer money to others, mobile top up, food delivery and so on.
