Today I woke up early but felt good as I had gone to sleep early the previous night. Breakfast wasn’t exactly my favorite as it mainly consisted of Indian dishes that I hadn’t really been used to… so I just ate two pieces of toast. After eating a meager breakfast, Kharma took us to the memorial stupa which was made by the 3rd kings mother as he had passed away at a young age. We then went to the massive sitting golden Buddha which was located up the mountain and provided some spectacular views! We went inside and got to see some beautiful artwork on the walls depicting the life of Buddha. We then visited a local market and saw many types of vegetables, spices, and fruit! I bought some Cordyceps tea. For lunch we went to a traditional restaurant and ate some local delicacies that included… chili-cheese, Bhutanese bacon, mushroom soup, red rice, “boneless” chicken, and various vegetable dishes. I personally enjoyed the experience but not the food. After lunch we visited the textile museum and saw many beautiful designs and clothing. For dinner, I ate at the hotel restaurant and it was decent. Tomorrow we head into the mountains!
