Today, Wednesday, May 23 has been an exciting first full day in Vietnam. Starting the day off at the American Center we had a briefing with two US diplomats and they shared their personal experiences working for the US government while abroad. I was shocked to learn just how difficult it is to become a US diplomat and how often they are required to change post. Following our briefing we presented the Missouri PowerPoint to Vietnamese college and high school aged students which was one of my favorite parts of the day. Getting to break up into small group to talk with the students and answer their questions about Missouri was so much fun. I got some of the craziest and most interesting questions but I was able to answer all the questions they had and I even asked them a few questions about Vietnam and their school. We finished the day off meeting with students from UEH and touring their campus. While touring the campus we got to sit in on a dance practice and karate lessons. Overall today was an incredible experience getting to try new foods, learn more about Vietnam, and meet new people.
