Today we had to leave the beautiful town of Luang Prabang but before leaving we went on a few tours. My favorite tour of the day was visiting the last Kings home that he lived in with his wife and kids. The kings palace was a lot more basic than I would have expected for a king. Although, it was simple it was really neat to see the gold shoes and crown that the king wore when he was the ruler. After touring the palace we hiked up over 300 stairs to see a view of Luang Prabang. The climb was worth it to see the city, mountains, and even temples off in the distance. After our tours we drove by car 8 hours to our next town, Xieng Khouang. So far Xieng Khouang has been the most disappointing place and has the worst hotel. Our room had cockroaches and broken window when we got here. I just hope Xieng Khouang gets better tomorrow.
