On Tuesday, December 31 we have most of the day free to explore Sydney. Although we have so much free time on this day I’m sure most businesses will be closing early so their employees can enjoy New Year’s Eve as well. I researched some free things to do this day that should also be open to the public all day long. Sydney has a lot of hiking trails and one of the most popular is the Coogee to Bondi walk. This is a 6km path along the most popular beaches of Sydney which takes about 2-3 hours to walk one way. Along the walk, there are several cafes to stop at and places to swim including the international landmark pool, Bondi Iceberg Club. The Bondi Iceberg Club is a large swimming pool located along the beach for visitors and residents to enjoy a swim with beautiful views. The Bondi Iceberg Club includes and a restaurant and it is only $7 for adults to swim. I think it would be fun to walk to the coast to the Bondi Iceberg Club although it is a long walk you do not have to walk the full distance. The Bondi Iceberg Club and the Coogee to Bondi walk are easy to get to by bus or train. I attached some links below.

I love all the research for this day! I’m so excited to be celebrating New Years Eve in Australia! With all that free time, it sure would be amazing to adventure around the city and do the free things provided in your link, I think it’s so important for us to experience this beautiful country free or charged. The Icebergs club looks like an amazing attraction to swim and get some exercise walking along the shore! Great idea.

Britney, I am convinced you are the queen of all things research. You have consistently found fun and affordable ideas the our group can do, either alone or together. I have actually been a little anxious because I wasn’t sure what we be an option for this day, but your post has given me a ton of ideas. I also agree with Lauren, I think the Bondi Iceberg club sounds like it would be an amazing experience. I also will be seriously considering the Coogee to Bondi walk. Two to three hours sounds like quite a ways but I wouldn’t have to worry about getting my steps in for the day and like you said it’s one of the most popular beaches of Sydney. Thanks for posting the links to those websites I will be sure to give them more of a look, especially as time to leave gets closer!
