On Sunday, January 5th we leave Cairns to go to Melbourne. This is also my 23rd birthday and I absolutely can not wait to celebrate my birthday in Australia! We will get to Melbourne fairly late in the day so we get the rest of the evening to explore the CBD of Melbourne. Melbourne’s CBD is known for music, graffiti/art, and food. After reading about Melbourne, I learned that street performances are a defining aspect especially at the CBD along Bourke Street Mall. The talent performing on the street is so good that people have been discovered by record labels this way or are YouTube stars. Melbourne has a lot of graffiti that is pure art not acts of rebellious vandalism and crimes. The beautiful graffiti is a located at Croft Alley, Caledonian Lane, and Hosier lane. Hosier Lane is a must see attraction and is one of the most photographed locations in Melbourne. Melbourne’s CBD is famous for the brunch cafes but also has good food from all over the world. In the CBD you can get local Aussie food, Middle Eastern, Vietnamese, and Mexican. I know when I’m there I could go for some Vietnamese fried rice. I can’t wait to be in Melbourne!
