Today I applied and was approved for my Australian visa. I’m now one step close to be ready to depart on December 25th. Continuing researching Melbourne, Australia from my previous post, on Monday, January 6th we will be visiting the 12 Apostles. To get to the 12 Apostles we will drive 4 hours each way down the Great Ocean Road. The Great Ocean Road is known as one of the most scenic coastal drives in the world because of the breathtaking views. The 12 Apostles are seven standing limestone structures on the shore in Victoria, Australia. The structures are guessed to be 10-20 million years old and formed by heavy winds that shaped the limestone into caves. The caves over time collapsed leaving tall stacks behind. There is only seven of the original eight stacks still standing that are visible from the lookout point and there are additional stacks inside the national park. I’m very excited to see this tourist attraction because it might not stand forever. Over ten years ago one of the eight stacks on the shore collapsed proving these are not forever structures. I’m excited to see these structures but I’m definitely dreading the long car ride.

The 12 Apostles seems like an amazing place to see! My mom was very jealous we were going to see and and she’ll miss out. I can’t say that I’ve done much research on it but what you’ve found makes it sound very interesting. Having a national park around that area is very important for the preservation of the 12, I am excited to see it too before another stack falls! Thank you for finding this information!
