So for many years I have been superstitous about getting a flu shot. Everyone I know that gets one, ends up sick, and the people I know that choose to skip it are totally fine. However, my mom pointed out that I’m going to be on some very long flights in close contact with a lot of people, and it might be best to actually get one this year. I hate shots, but I would hate being sick even more. So this week I’m struggling with my personal superstition and hatred of shots versus the potential benefit of having one. I’m very close to caving and getting one. At the very least I will be packing hand sanitizer and anything else that will help me stay germ free while traveling.

Courtney,
It’s the circulated air in the plane you’ll be sharing. I suggest getting the flu shot soon because it takes some time for it to be effective.
