Today our Study Away Program is officially over. We left Myanmar this morning and landed in Taiwan for a few days before heading back to the states. The extreme difference between Myanmar and Taiwan is overwhelming. I loved all our travels, but it is nice to be back in a land where air conditioning and internet are reliable and where the things I am a costume to are easily … [Read more...] about Day 13: Closing thoughts
Today we traveled to the Jumping Cat Monastery. There were no jumping cats just one really lethargic cat. Monastery was built by a chief with the aid of local families. It lies on a large flat plateau where there are monuments every few hundred feet. There are over 3000 monuments/pagoda.temples here and some are over a thousand years old. I have been to ruins in other places, but … [Read more...] about Day 9: Bagan
