It is so refreshing to see a wildlife park for the animals and not for the profits. You can tell the animals are well taken care of with good enclosures. All enclosures had fresh and real vegetation, with open ceilings (besides the reptiles) and seemed relaxed and content. They also had free roaming kangaroos! It’s amazing during this trip how many different landscapes we have seen. Melbourne seems to be the closest comparison to New York City, being a very fast paced industrial city. Kuranda rainforest was a beautiful site to be at. We rode a train built in the 1950s up to the top of the hill to the village markets. On the train ride we listened to the history of the railroad, which seemed like a physically rolling task to take on.
