Arianny Pujols-Mancilla is an Administrative Management major with a minor in Spanish. Arianny will be studying in Granada, Spain for the Fall 2018 semester. She chose the SOL Education Abroad Spain program to compliment her academic goals and personal goals.
A huge congratulations goes to Arianny as she received the Benjamin A. Gilman scholarship! Arianny is one of approximately 1,200 American undergraduate students selected to receive the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs to study or intern abroad during the fall 2018 term. Gilman Scholars receive up to $5,000 to apply towards their study abroad or internship program costs.
Arianny wants to encourage more minorities to study abroad and mentor them through the process for high success. She also wants to take this experience to learn to read and write fluent in Spanish to help her family more than what she already does and better her Latin-x communities.
Arianny’s advice:
“Take the opportunity to Study Abroad even if you don’t think you have the funds for it. Because in the end your experience is more valuable and there are many ways to find the money!”
To help Arianny fund the remainder of her experience, she has started a GoFundMe, where you can learn more about her time abroad. Congratulations, Arianny!
