Hunak هناك, meaning “there” in Arabic is a research-based contemporary dance piece that explores questions of culture, identity, and conflict in Israel/Palestine. This work centers around seeking understanding/ humanization through observation, self-reflection,transnational collaboration and identifying cross-cultural parallels.
This show is being presented as part of the Missouri State University Dept of Theatre and Dance Fall 2018 Studio Series and is being funded by the “Mid East Meets Midwest” grant provided by Missouri State University’s department of Middle Eastern Studies.
In this performance, we are honored to welcome Palestinian musician Omar Zinaty who will be composing music and sharing the stage with us.
