Are you a Theatre and Dance student interested in attaining a scholarship? The department will be holding auditions for the Kathleen Turner and Cox-Bussey Performance Scholarships on April 5th from 12-3PM. To audition, sign up for a time slot outside of Craig 358A and fill out the MSU Online Scholarship Application.
The criteria for each scholarship are as follows:
Kathleen Turner Scholarship is awarded annually to a student majoring in Theatre and Dance that has completed 75 hours (by May 2019) or more with an overall GPA of 3.0. Must be active in Department and have commitment to continue professionally. Consideration will be made of body of work and cooperation. Can be renewed, but students must re-audition.
Cox-Bussey Scholarship will be awarded annually to students seeking a major in Musical Theatre. Incoming freshmen can be considered based on high school involvement, college potential, and talent. Students enrolled at the sophomore level or higher must have a departmental GPA of 2.5. Students must be enrolled as full-time undergraduates.
If interested in auditioning for these scholarships, please prepare the following:
Kathleen Turner Auditions Two contrasting monologues (approx. 2 minutes each)
Cox-Bussey Auditions One song (under two minute) and one monologue (under two minutes). You must bring your accompanist or recorded accompaniment.
Combined Auditions Prepare all of the pieces above.
