“Tent Theatre believes in the power of theatre to educate, inspire, and uplift.”
Tent Theatre is launching a three-part series this summer to keep our patrons, friends, and alumni up to date and engaged with Tent Theatre. For now, we are pausing the launch of the series. Please view our very special message to all of our artists and fans.
“June 11, 2020 was the scheduled release date for Episode #1 of ‘Tune In To Tent,’ our special three-part series of summer 2020. As our nation confronts the issues of racial discrimination and social injustice, we cannot conduct business as usual. Tent Theatre has decided to pause our ‘Tune In To Tent’ series to stand in solidarity with our black artists, both current and former, and our entire community, including but not limited to black people, indigenous people, LatinX people, and people of color.”
Joe Price, producer of Tent Theatre, added to the message by saying, “Tent Theatre stands with the black community and is horrified by the senseless killings of Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and most recently, George Floyd. Our organization values diversity, inclusion, and social justice. We are committed to eliminating racism, and we pledge to support our black students, alumni, artists, and patrons. We recognize that words are not enough, and we pledge our love and support to you. As artists, we have the power to enlighten and transform. The time for action is now. We must work together to create a better world.”
Tent Theatre has included this message and an endearing performance in the video attached below. Please follow the link and open your hearts to this special edition of ‘Tune In To Tent.’
