Everyone recognizes that with the start of an academic year comes a new generation, a new class of highly motivated, talented, and excited students determined to make their Missouri State-ment and eventually change the world; however, these students are not the only ones. Missouri State University’s Department of Theatre and Dance would like to officially welcome and shine a Faculty Spotlight on our new professor in the Design, Technology, and Stage Management Program- Jennifer C. Hard!
Jennifer obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from the University of Southern Illinois, Carbondale before completing a Master of Fine Arts in Stage Management from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. She has worked largely in the northeast area of the country as a member of and Production Manager for a variety of playhouses and other universities. We are honored as a department to have her working with us and sharing all of the knowledge and experience she has brought with her.
We asked Jennifer what she was most excited for about joining our university and department, and she said,
“I am excited to work with the Stage Managers. I believe that Stage Managers are the backbone of the theatrical process, and I look forward to helping Stage Managers develop the skills needed to thrive in a changing theatrical industry.”
Some fun facts about her are that she has a 12-year-old Silky Terrier rescue name Toby who she loves to go on adventures with, she is a proud Red Sox fan, and her partner and her are board-game enthusiasts.
We could not be more thrilled to be a part of this journey in her life and have her as a part in ours. Her yearning to inspire others and passion for her craft are truly commendable and already evident to fellow faculty members and students. We are excited to have you on board and do everything possible to make you feel right at home. Welcome, Jennifer, to Missouri State University’s Department of Theatre and Dance!
