Student Spotlight: Zach Greer

September 25, 2020 by Matthew Walter

Student Spotlight

“He is one of the warmest people you’ll ever meet.”

“One of the most adaptable and intelligent actors I have ever worked with.”

This week’s Student Spotlight is over the caring and talented Zach Greer!

Zach Greer

Zach is a senior in the Bachelor of Fine Arts Musical Theatre program. His work includes a variety of productions such as Raphael in Amelie: A New Musical at Missouri State University, Musidorus in Head Over Heels with Spectra Theatre Co., Agent/Ensemble in Catch Me If You Can with Tent Theatre, and most recently Dr. Neville Craven in The Secret Garden at Missouri State University. His talent speaks for itself with his ability to truly envelope any character he sets his eyes on. When asked about Zach’s abilities, one of his friends had this to say, “On top of being a tremendous talent, his willingness to play and experiment in rehearsal makes him not only an incredibly open performer, but a joyful one at that.” Multiple people also made note that Zach has a history of playing several “Dad” characters throughout his career, making him the “certifiable Department Dad.”

Outside of his work, Zach is known as one of the most sincere and kind-hearted individuals. His friends said that “The only thing that could hold a candle to his vocals is his caring for others” and that “Zach is a warm, loyal friend who will always deliver upon the promises he makes, constantly giving himself and expecting nothing in return. He lives up to the phrase from Amelie ‘World’s Best Dad.'” It is so clear by those around him that he is incredibly passionate, appreciated, and cared for. Success for him in all aspects of life is truly inevitable.

Congratulations Zach on all of your personal and academic successes! You have been this week’s Student Spotlight.

“Thanks for being a great friend, Dad.”
