Each year, the University celebrates public affairs with a new theme and series of events. Several websites have been updated to showcase this year’s theme, Inclusive Excellence, and promote this year’s events.
Family of websites
The redesign impacted several related websites, including the Common Reader, Community Service Awards and Public Affairs Week websites.
By coordinating the design of all of these websites, the University unifies the marketing of public affairs events and programs.
Features
Key features of the redesigned website include the following:
- Publicizes a featured event through blog
The new homepage includes an area to feature one item, which is accomplished by using a blog feed that pulls in the most recent item that’s part of the “featured” category. This streamlined approach allows public affairs staff to update their website outside of Web Press and reuse the blog content that was already used on the Missouri State homepage. - Lists events with keyword “public affairs”
The homepage also includes a master calendar feed of events tagged with the “public affairs” keyword. This allows anyone on campus to submit an event for promotion on the public affairs website and provides a single repository of public affairs events.
