Musical theatre website showcases interdisciplinary approach

December 19, 2013 by

Muscial Theatre

The musical theatre website was redesigned as part of the Academic Website Project, which strives to enhance academic websites for use in recruitment efforts.

Muscial TheatreKey features of the newly designed website include the following:

  • Combines two departments
This program is offered jointly by the theatre and dance department and the music department. Since it would confuse students to offer a program website in both departments, a stand-alone site was developed with its own theme and content.
  • Reuses content
Many of the productions offered by this program are promoted by the theatre and dance department, so the activity stream was mirrored between the two sites.

Several university relations offices assisted in developing this site:

  • Content: Karen Culp, publications graduate assistant
  • Design: Lindsay Thomack, Web and new media designer, and Kelly Johnson, Web and new media student designer
  • Website implementation: David Howell and Brittany Dilts, Web and new media student workers, with oversight by Sara Clark, director of Web and new media
