CDR Director Dr. Charlene Berquist and Associate Director Heather Blades will be leading a short-term study aboard trip to Ireland this coming summer, 2016.
This 3-credit hour course focuses on the study of conflict and reconciliation in Ireland and Northern Ireland. The group will travel to Dublin, Belfast, and Derry on June 15-26th and visit a variety of sites related to Irish history the “the Troubles.” Students will have the opportunity to:
- Visit the Ulster History Museum
- See the American Folk Park/Titanic Belfast
- Tour East and West Belfast
- Visit Falls and Shankhill Road
- Write a Message on the Peace Wall
- Raise a Pint at the Crown Bar
- Visit Trinity College and the Book of Kells
- Tour Kilmainham Gaol
- View the Bogisde Murals
- Tour the Walled City
- Explore the Bloody Sunday Museum
- Take in the View from Carrickfergus Castle
- Play on the Giants Causeway, and much more!
