Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense, will recognize Diane Leamy, Senior Instructor, Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice, Missouri State University, with a Patriot Award in recognition of her extraordinary support of students and employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserves.
At 08:15 noon, on November 11, 2015, the Patriot Award presentation ceremony will be conducted during the Veteran’s Recognition Breakfast, in the Ballroom, Plaster Student Union, on the Missouri State University Campus, 901 S. National, Springfield, Mo. Col. (Ret.) Steven Vanderhoof, Area 4 Chairman, ESGR, will officiate the ceremony, make opening remarks, and thank the university’s leaders for providing support to students and employees that are members of the Guard and Reserve. The “official” presentation will be conducted by LCDR James Griffin, Commanding Officer, Navy Operational Support Center, 1110 N. Fremont, Springfield, Mo., U.S. Navy Reserve. The media is invited to attend the presentation of this prestigious award.
Diane Leamy was nominated for being highly supportive of the military National Guard and Reserve Service students and their family members by Gregory Coopwood. Coopwood was a student when he nominated one of his instructors for the Patriot Award. He has since graduated. Coopwood is a Sergeant in the 935th Aviation Support Battalion, Missouri Army National Guard, 1400 N. Fremont, Springfield, Mo.
