The Mathematics Department received a $500 grant from the 3m Foundation to help support the Enriching High School Math in the Southwest Missouri Area program under the direction of Yungchen Cheng and Patti Blanton. The mission of this program is to provide a forum, through monthly sessions, to help generate and promote broader interest of area high school students and teachers in advanced mathematics beyond classroom curriculum, and to help raise both the expectation and mastery levels as well. Many participating students aspire for a career in math, science or engineering which are in critical need.
