Missouri State-West Plains has 1st endowed professorship

Missouri State University-West Plains is starting its first endowed professorship. At Friday’s Missouri State University Board of Governors meeting in Springfield, Missouri State-West Plains Chancellor Drew Bennett will announce that university officials have received the minimum amount needed in donations and pledges, $250,000, to create the Donna Jones Endowed Professorship of Nursing.

Fundraising efforts, practices receive national recognition

For the second time in three years Missouri State University has won national recognition for its fundraising success. Missouri State won an “Overall Performance Award” in the 2011 CASE Educational Fundraising Awards program. The award honors “superior fundraising programs” across the country as part of the CASE (Council for the Advancement and Support of Education) Circle of Excellence program.

Scholarships encourage international student to aspire higher

Ruo Zhang, who is known by her friends as “Zoe”, grew up hoping that she would someday visit the United States of America, which she had read and seen so much about on television, in movies, books, and magazines. Zoe explained to the audience at the Missouri State University 2011 Endowed Scholarship Dinner, that she had no idea the wish would eventually come true and she would be living and receiving an education in the United States because of the generosity of a stranger.

Raised and educated at Missouri State University, Mr. Dana Edwards had no idea of the on-going impact and legacy he and his family would create and leave at Missouri State.

Annual dinner honors endowed non-departmental scholarships

With friends and alumni of Missouri State University funding over 135 endowed non-departmental scholarship funds that provided 266 awards in the 2010-2011 academic year, there certainly was reason to celebrate. On April 4, 2011 over 150 donors, students, family, faculty, and staff attended the Endowed Scholarship Appreciation Dinner at the Plaster Student Union.
