Foster family recognized with Bronze Bear award

In recognition of their long-standing involvement with and support of Missouri State University, the Foster family will receive the 2014 Bronze Bear Award. They will be the 16th recipient of the award, which is presented to those who have exhibited “extraordinary achievement and/or outstanding support” for Missouri State.

Ribbon cut and doors open at new Foster Recreation Center

On August 20, 2012, over 28 months after its ground breaking, the Bill R. Foster and Family Recreation Center opened its doors for use during an official ribbon cutting that was held in the new center’s grand lobby. The ceremony, which was open to the public, had several hundred in attendance, including students, faculty, staff, administrators, members of the Board of Governors and Foundation Board of Trustees, as well as many private donors for the project including members of the Foster Family after whom the facility is named.

Bill R. Foster and Family Recreation Center to be dedicated

Homecoming week at Missouri State University will include the dedication ceremony for two new campus features: the Bill R. Foster and Family Recreation Center and the Michael T. Nietzel Plaza. The dedication ceremony will begin at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 26 at the Bobby and Betty Allison Courts in the Foster Recreation Center.

Bill R. Foster and Family’s gift supports university recreation center

When students enter the university recreation center for the first time this spring, they will find a new place on campus to enjoy a variety of wellness and recreational activities. In addition, thanks to a major gift commitment from Bill R. Foster and the Foster Family, they will find the building already has a name: the Bill R. Foster and Family Recreation Center.
