What's happening in the field?

At the Missouri State Fruit Experiment Station

KidFest on Saturday, August 18

August 20, 2012 by Marilyn Odneal

We set up a State Fruit Experiment Station – Darr School of Agriculture at Kidfest on Saturday at the Mountain Grove Fairgrounds. Hui, Xinyi, Qiang, Susanne and I worked in the booth. Rachel Ramsey designed and painted the green june beetle and the apple codling moth worm on the bean bag boards for us. The weather was beautiful and special features included a Flag Ceremony and the firetruck dousing all of the kids with water after showing off the fire truck ladder. Rita Foster, the director of KidFest, estimated that 1,000 kids, teenagers, parents and grand parents participated in the event. Thanks to Qiang for taking the photos of the day!

Here are some photos from our booth.
