Under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), most Americans are now required to have health insurance or pay a penalty when they file their income tax forms. The IRS requires employers to provide a new form designated as Form 1095C to full-time employees enrolled in the employer’s medical plan. Thus, the University will be sending all employees enrolled in the University’s medical plan during 2015 the new Form 1095-C. If you enrolled in Missouri State University’s medical plan for any coverage in 2015, the form provides the information needed to verify for your income tax return that you (and your spouse and dependents, if applicable) had qualifying health coverage for some or all months during the year.
