A cyclo is a three wheeled “taxi” that use to be a common form of transportation in Vietnam. We will be able to see many cyclo around the touristy locations that we will be at. They are banned in some parts of the city however due to the busy traffic. They usually have a fixed rate for a short-medium-long tour that you can pay for. Make sure to negotiate the price ahead of time or else there could be some problems with payment afterwards. Sometimes, they will charge the tourist more than they would a local, but also be aware that driving a cyclo is hard work and sometimes its the only form of work they have all day. If the driver is particularly good, it’s good to also tip him a percentage as well.
