The Metals program of the Department of Art and Design is pleased to be hosting visiting artist Sherri Jaudes for a lecture at 5:00 pm on Thursday, October 20 and a metal whistle making workshop on Friday, October 21 at 9 am. The lecture will be presented in Brick City 1 room 312, and the workshop will take place in the metals studio, Brick 1, room 226; both events are free and open to the public.
Sherri Jaudes is a Missouri artist who makes sculptural work using a combination of ferrous and precious metals colored with gesso and colored pencils or enamels. Much of her imagery is drawn from plants and insects as a way of exploring different life events and emotions.
